18-Year-Old Arrested in Saitama Hit-and-Run Fatality

Authorities in Saitama City have arrested an‍ eighteen-year-old ​individual in connection with a ⁤tragic⁢ hit-and-run incident that occurred on Friday night. The ⁤suspect ⁢is accused of engaging in risky driving that ‍resulted in the death ⁣of a 66-year-old man.

The incident took place just after 10 p.m. in a residential neighborhood located on the Tobu Noda Line, approximately one ‌kilometer southeast of Owada⁣ Station. Local law enforcement reported that‍ a nearby resident called the police ⁤after hearing⁤ a loud noise outside. Upon investigating, the resident discovered an elderly man lying on the ‍road.
