A sinkhole of significant size appeared in Hiroshima City on Thursday. The incident was reported to the police at approximately 8:50 a.m., when they received an emergency call regarding a bulge that had formed in a section of road located in Nishi Ward. It is suspected that an underground water pipe burst, causing the road to collapse and resulting in several buildings in the vicinity leaning precariously. Fortunately, despite some individuals becoming trapped inside these structures, all were successfully rescued by the city fire department.
