Possible Missing Girl from Northern Noto Peninsula Found Offshore Fukui Prefecture

The Fukui Coast Guard Station announced on Tuesday that they have discovered⁤ and recovered the body of a woman in the Sea of Japan, approximately 40 kilometers off the coast ⁢of Sakai, Fukui Prefecture. The body was found wearing clothing with the​ name “Kiso” written on⁢ it, leading⁤ authorities to ⁢believe that it may be Hanon Kiso, a 14-year-old junior high school student ‍from Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture who has been missing since heavy rains struck the northern part of the Noto⁣ Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. The coast guard‌ is currently collaborating with Ishikawa prefectural ‍authorities ​to confirm her ‌identity.

According to‍ reports from⁣ the coast guard, a fisherman discovered the body at around 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The⁣ body was approximately 1 meter and 50 centimeters tall and was dressed in a blackish jersey bottom and sweatshirt. At this‍ time, details regarding her⁢ age, cause of death,⁤ and time of death remain unknown.
