Liverpool looked sharper from the start compared to their previous game against Wolves, with several chances created early on. Despite Bologna hitting the woodwork twice and forcing some smart saves from Alisson Becker, Liverpool held on to their lead and limited their opponents’ high-quality opportunities. Salah’s goal proved to be enough for Liverpool to secure a well-deserved victory. Alisson Becker was instrumental in keeping Bologna at bay with his smart saves and claims. Trent Alexander-Arnold had an engaging battle with Dan Ndoye on his side of the pitch. Ibrahima Konate played a crucial role in preventing Bologna from converting their chances into dangerous attacks. Virgil van Dijk remained solid defensively throughout the match. Andy Robertson had some difficulties defensively but provided an attacking option down the left flank. Ryan Gravenberch impressed in midfield with his battles won and excellent performance under pressure. Alexis Mac Allister not only scored but also showcased his ability to scrap for possession calmly. Mohamed Salah was influential as he provided an assist for Mac Allister’s goal and created numerous chances for Liverpool throughout the game before scoring himself with a stunning curler into the net.
