ANA Holdings Enhances Ground Handling Efficiency at Haneda Airport with VR Training, Reducing Time

ANA Holdings Inc. has introduced ​virtual reality (VR) ⁢equipment at Haneda Airport to enhance⁢ training in aircraft ⁤ground handling, specifically tasks ⁤related ‌to aircraft parking zones. The implementation of ‍this new system ⁣is expected to reduce training time by approximately​ 40%. ANA Holdings plans ‍to⁤ expand the use of VR equipment to other⁣ airports across the country.

The training program includes various tasks, such as using a vehicle to push ‍an aircraft backward. Trainees will be ⁣able to practice ‌these tasks by operating a steering wheel in⁢ a virtual environment. Typically, mastering these ‌tasks requires over 100 training sessions; however, limited time and trainers make it challenging‌ to provide sufficient practice opportunities. By incorporating VR technology into the training process, ANA Holdings aims to‍ improve efficiency.

Moving forward,‌ ANA Holdings intends to replace the initial stages of training⁣ with VR simulations while still providing employees with ‍hands-on⁤ experience during later stages of their development.
