Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba expressed his concerns on Monday about the upcoming House of Representatives election, stating that it will be a challenging one for the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). As the official campaign is set to begin on Tuesday, Ishiba acknowledged the tough prospects ahead and emphasized the importance of giving their best effort. He also expressed gratitude if both LDP and Komeito could secure a majority in the election. Prior to this statement, Ishiba held a meeting with LDP Secretary General Hiroshi Moriyama and Election Strategy Committee Chairperson Shinjiro Koizumi at the party headquarters. During this meeting, they are believed to have analyzed the latest strategy aimed at securing a majority for the ruling parties in the October 27th election.
