Singer Masaharu Fukuyama, a Nagasaki native, held a free concert at the newly opened Nagasaki Stadium City on Sunday. The concert was in celebration of the grand opening of the facility on Monday. Approximately 25,000 people were in attendance at the concert, selected through a lottery from over 530,000 applicants.
During the concert, Fukuyama greeted the audience by saying, “I’ve come back to Nagasaki,” and kicked off the show with his popular song “Hello.” As part of the festivities, organizers released colorful balloons into the air. After performing his songs, Fukuyama took a moment to reflect on the event and expressed his feelings about it. He said, “I can say Nagasaki was reborn. It feels like a new life has begun.”
