A tragic incident occurred in Yokohama on Saturday night when a 17-year-old high school girl jumped from a building and landed on a 32-year-old woman below, resulting in the death of both individuals.
According to reports from NHK, the girl leaped from the 12th floor deck of NEWoMan Yokohama, a shopping center directly connected to JR Yokohama Station, shortly before 6 p.m. She unfortunately struck a woman who was walking with three friends at the time.
Both victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. The girl succumbed to her injuries around 7 p.m., while the pedestrian tragically passed away at 9:40 p.m.
Authorities have identified the jumper as a resident of Kimitsu City in Chiba Prefecture, while the woman was an employee of a company residing in Midori Ward, Yokohama.
The incident took place during peak hours when numerous shoppers were present at the scene. The crowded environment only added to the shock and distress experienced by witnesses.
