Philadelphia Eagles Removing Kamala Harris Ads Deemed Counterfeit Throughout City

The Philadelphia Eagles have confirmed that they will take action to remove unauthorized posters featuring⁢ Democratic presidential candidate‌ Kamala Harris at bus stops in ‌Philadelphia. The ⁣posters, which depict Harris wearing an Eagles uniform and⁣ helmet ⁤while holding a football, suggest that she is the team’s “official candidate.” Users on social media platform ⁣X shared images of the posters and questioned whether ‍the ⁤NFL team had endorsed Harris for the ⁤upcoming election.

In response to these concerns, the Eagles released a statement on social media stating‌ that they are aware of the counterfeit⁤ political ads circulating and are⁣ working with their advertising partner to⁢ have them removed. Local media outlets reported that the unauthorized posters were found at various ⁢bus stops in Philadelphia, with a website‍ listed at the ⁤bottom offering voting information for residents of New Jersey‌ and Pennsylvania.

Eagles Nation, a fan site associated with the team, also noted on X⁣ that no official announcement‍ had been made by the Eagles regarding any endorsement. Additionally, their Voting Resource website has not been updated ⁤since the primary elections.

Intersection Media, which owns the ad space at bus shelters in Philadelphia, acknowledged that their shelters had been vandalized and replaced with unauthorized copy. A spokesperson for Intersection Media ‍stated that while their bus shelters typically have⁣ locks to prevent unauthorized ads from being installed by non-staff members, people occasionally find ways to⁤ unlock them. The spokesperson confirmed that Intersection staff would be removing these fake ads as soon as possible.

It‌ remains unclear how many of these Harris-Eagles posters were placed around ⁣Philadelphia or who is responsible for ⁢creating them. It is also uncertain ⁢if any NFL team has ever officially endorsed a presidential ‌candidate;⁢ however, team owners have been⁤ known to donate to specific candidates over time.

Pennsylvania is considered a crucial swing state in this year’s election due to its 19 electoral votes. Ballots will be mailed out 50 days before Election Day ‍on⁤ September 16th according to the ‌National Conference of State Legislatures. The Epoch Times reached out for comment from both Intersection Media and Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems but received ⁤no response by publication time.
