“Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert recently opened up about the challenges she faced during her breast cancer journey. In an interview with People magazine, Eggert revealed that she is currently in a “gray area” after completing her treatment and is now waiting for the next steps.
Eggert expressed that she is doing well but described the waiting period as the hardest part of her journey. She explained, “There’s a lot of waiting in this, and it’s sort of something… nobody really talks about. But the gray area is the hardest because you don’t know what’s happening… When I’m doing treatment, I felt like I was doing something productive.”
In January, Eggert shared that she had been diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma, a rare type of breast cancer. She recalled experiencing weight gain and terrible pain in her left breast before receiving her diagnosis.
After going through what she described as a “productive” treatment stage, Eggert admitted to finding the waiting period frustrating. She said, “I was like, ‘Okay, I’m doing something positive.’ And now it’s just like nothing; it’s like… wait a minute, we’ve got to get this out. So it’s just frustrating.”
Despite these challenges, Eggert shared that her daughters have been supportive throughout her journey. She mentioned that they treat her no differently and continue to keep her on her toes.
Eggert also discussed how being involved in the ABC News docuseries “After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” has given her purpose amid her health struggles. She believes that having a young daughter and working on this project has motivated her to stay focused on more than just herself.
In July, Eggert received positive news from surgeons who informed her that there was no detectable cancer in the treated area and gave their approval for surgery.
Throughout Nicole Eggert’s career as an actress starting from a young age until now when she starred in popular shows such as “Baywatch,” she has made significant contributions to film and television.
