The leaders of the “Quad Nations” – Japan, the United States, Australia, and India – are planning to hold a meeting in Delaware on September 21. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will represent Japan at the meeting. Originally, India was supposed to host this year’s summit, but the United States requested a change in location. This gathering will be President Joe Biden’s final Quad summit before his retirement in January. It is believed that Biden chose to hold the meeting in his home state as a way to highlight his accomplishments in strengthening cooperation within the Quad and positioning it as a key aspect of his diplomatic strategy towards China.
