The Senate Homeland Security Committee Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations is set to hold a hearing on the technology provided by U.S. companies that is being used to support the Russian war machine. The hearing will take place at 3:30 p.m. ET on September 10.
Several witnesses have been called to testify at the hearing, including Michelle B. Stout, who serves as the vice president of global trade compliance and government affairs at Analog Devices, Inc. The purpose of this hearing is to examine how U.S. companies are contributing to Russia’s military capabilities through their technological advancements. The committee aims to gain a better understanding of these contributions and assess any potential risks or concerns associated with them.
By bringing together representatives from these prominent technology companies, lawmakers hope to gather valuable insights into their business practices and determine whether any changes or regulations need to be implemented in order to prevent further support for Russia’s war efforts.
This hearing serves as an important opportunity for lawmakers and industry experts alike to address this pressing issue and work towards finding effective solutions that prioritize national security interests while maintaining a fair business environment for U.S. companies operating in global markets.
