Liverpool will be looking to continue their perfect start to the 2024/25 Premier League season when they face Nottingham Forest on Saturday. The Reds have been in impressive form, with a convincing 3-0 victory over Manchester United in their last match. They have also secured 2-0 wins against Ipswich Town and Brentford, and are the only team yet to concede a goal in the league.
Nottingham Forest have also had a strong start to the season, picking up five points from their first three matches under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. They recorded a 1-0 win over Southampton and drew 1-1 with both Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Liverpool have found it challenging against Nottingham Forest since their return to the Premier League. While they won 3-0 at Anfield last season, their trips to the City Ground have been hard-fought battles.
In terms of injuries, Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott suffered a foot fracture while playing for England’s Under-21s and is expected to be out until late October. Alexis Mac Allister also picked up a knock on international duty but featured in Argentina’s recent match against Colombia. Curtis Jones could make his return from a minor fitness issue, while new signing Federico Chiesa may be named on the bench.
Nottingham Forest’s main injury concern is midfielder Danilo, who broke his ankle on the opening day of the season and will be out until next year. He has been replaced by summer signing Elliot Anderson in recent matches.
Liverpool are expected to secure another victory this weekend based on their strong performances so far this season. However, Nottingham Forest has proven themselves as tough opponents and could pose some challenges for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
