Several units from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a potential threat at Moss Middle School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The school was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure. However, as of 10:45 a.m., the Warren County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the campus is now safe.
The lockdown was prompted by a rumor of a student potentially carrying a weapon on campus. This information was relayed to parents through an email from the Warren County Public Schools (WCPS). It is important to note that there was never an actual student with a weapon on campus; it was simply a call-in to law enforcement.
Authorities have located and are currently questioning the student who was under suspicion off-campus. The WCPS has taken swift action in addressing this situation and ensuring the safety of all students.
In addition, Jennings Creek Elementary School also implemented safety measures by initiating a brief ”lock out” due to an incident occurring near their premises. However, they have received confirmation that it is now safe for students and staff to resume normal activities.
As this is an ongoing situation, further updates may be provided in due course.
