Wow. That was grim. A bare studio apartment with traffic honking in the background. The clock on the cheap, electric range stupidly blinking 12:00 over and over. The last deluded "good Republican" still holding on to the glory days of the Gipper. An old man now. White and male in an America that has changed and keeps changing. An America becoming younger, less white, less Fundamentalist, less native born, and more tolerant of women and minorities. Desperately holding on to a dream of the past that never existed. Lamenting the loss of a party whose only project since Reagan was grievance and greed. Some how surprised that a party that has openly courted racist voters for generations now has finally been taken over by them. Hoping against hope that the future will somehow magically manifest the failed Republican past that is utterly and completely dead and buried under a hot pile of MAGA.
