Ball State Men’s Tennis Fall Invite: First Day Recap

The Ball State men’s tennis team recently participated in‌ the 40th annual Ball State Fall Invitational in Muncie, ‍Indiana. The team consists of seven returning players and three ‍new additions. On the opening‌ day of⁤ the tournament, the Cardinals competed in singles matches against IU Indy and Butler. Nathaniel Webster, Jacks Lancaster, Broc Fletcher, Jenson Bicanic, and Peter ⁢Petrovic all secured straight set victories over their opponents. In doubles, Ian Brady ​and Anthony Shalakov⁣ defeated Xavier’s Andrew Spurck⁢ and Alex Kotarski with a score of 6-3.

The tournament ⁤will continue on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET at the Foster Adams‍ Family Tennis ​Complex/Bill Richards Tennis Courts if weather conditions permit.

In addition to Ball State’s matches, other teams ⁣also competed in singles and doubles matches throughout the ​day. Kyle McNally from‌ Dayton defeated Ryan Cahill‍ from Xavier with‌ a score ‍of‌ 7-6 (5), 6-1. ​Pascal⁢ Mosberger from Xavier won⁢ against Brady Hussey from Dayton ⁢with a score of 2-6, ‌6-4, 10-6.

Steven⁤ Paz from IU Indy emerged ⁤victorious against Broc Fletcher from Ball State after a close match that ‌ended with a score of 7-5, 5-7, 11-9. Noah Viste from IU Indy defeated Jenson ‌Bicanic from Ball State with scores‍ of 6-4 and 6-3.

The competition between these teams showcased impressive skills on⁤ both sides as they battled it out on the courts during this invitational event.
