Changes in NBA player rankings: CBS Sports’ Top 100 sees significant movements among big names

The annual Top 100 NBA player ⁤rankings by CBS Sports have been released for the 2024-25 season. This list reflects an aggregate projection of how players will perform in the upcoming season,⁣ taking into account factors such⁢ as performance from the previous year and potential for improvement.

One of the most interesting aspects of this ranking is comparing it to last year’s list and seeing which players have made‌ significant moves ⁤up ‍or down. ​In terms of risers, Victor ⁣Wembanyama‌ takes the top spot, jumping an impressive 46 spots⁢ to just outside the top 10. Wembanyama’s⁢ performance after the All-Star break last season was exceptional, averaging 23.5 points, 12 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 4.5 blocks, and⁣ 1.5 steals per⁢ game.

Chet‍ Holmgren and ​Alperen Sengun ⁤also made significant jumps ​on this ‍year’s list, both moving up by ⁣38 spots.⁢ Holmgren impressed ⁢in his delayed debut with the​ Oklahoma City Thunder and showcased his versatility as a player with skills both inside and outside the paint.

On‍ the other hand, ‍there were some‍ notable fallers on this year’s list as well. Andrew Wiggins experienced a considerable drop of -53 spots from ⁤last year’s ranking due to a decline in performance since his All-Star season in⁣ 2021-22.

Other players who saw their rankings decrease include Josh‌ Giddey (-40), Brook Lopez ⁣(-38), Marcus Smart (-37), Zach LaVine (-37), Klay Thompson (-32), Bradley Beal (-31), ​Chris Paul (-28), Malcolm Brogdon (-28), and Draymond Green (-26).

These rankings provide an interesting snapshot of how players are projected to perform ​in the ‍upcoming NBA season based on various factors such as past performance‌ and potential for growth or decline.
