Carlo Ancelotti has praised young talent Endrick for becoming the youngest Real Madrid player to score in the UEFA Champions League. Madrid continued their strong start to the 2024/25 campaign with a 3-1 victory over Stuttgart in their opening Champions League game. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring, Deniz Undav equalized, and Antonio Rudiger secured Madrid’s win late in the game. In typical Madrid fashion, 18-year-old Endrick made it three with a brave strike from outside the box.
Manager Ancelotti commended Endrick’s courage and decision-making during the counter-attack that led to his goal. Ancelotti stated that he was initially worried but is no longer concerned after witnessing Endrick’s performance. The manager acknowledged that taking advantage of a three-on-one situation would have been the best solution, but Endrick was convinced to take matters into his own hands and executed it well.
Ancelotti further praised Endrick for his ability to do things that others wouldn’t think of and described him as having something special with a strong and fast shot. The manager also assessed his team’s overall performance, admitting they are still trying to find their best version.
Madrid will face Espanyol on Saturday before their next Champions League fixture against Lille on October 2nd.
