The Hyogo prefectural assembly in Kobe has unanimously passed a no-confidence motion against Hyogo Governor Motohiko Saito. The governor is currently facing allegations of power harassment and other misconduct in the workplace. All 86 members of the assembly submitted the motion, with the Liberal Democratic Party providing reasons for their decision. They stated that trust from citizens has been lost, causing doubt among government employees and leading to long-term stagnation and turmoil within the prefectural administration. The assembly believes that there is no possibility of regaining trust and that it is impossible for Saito to continue steering the prefectural administration. Saito now has two options: accepting the decision or dissolving the assembly. If he does not dissolve it within 10 days, he will automatically lose his position as governor.
