Nintendo and Pokemon file lawsuit against Palworld developer

Nintendo and Pokemon have filed a patent ⁤infringement lawsuit against the creators of the⁤ adventure game “Palworld.” The game, developed by Pocketpair Inc., has‍ faced criticism for its similarities to Nintendo’s popular “Pocket Monster” ⁤series. The lawsuit was‌ filed with the Tokyo District Court, with ‍Nintendo and Pokemon seeking damages and an injunction against the alleged ​infringement. In a joint statement, the⁣ two companies emphasized⁣ their commitment to protecting their intellectual property rights. Palworld ​allows players to capture fictional creatures ‌called “Pals” and explore a virtual⁢ world⁤ together. ⁤Since its ⁤release in January, it has gained ⁤over 25⁢ million users within a⁤ month. Sony Music Entertainment⁣ (Japan) Inc., ‍a subsidiary of​ Sony ⁤Group Corp., announced plans⁤ in July​ to launch a licensing business⁣ for Palworld‍ both domestically and internationally.
