Former President Donald Trump has stated in a recent interview that he is unlikely to run for president again if he loses the 2024 election against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. When asked by Attkisson if he would consider running again in four years if he is unsuccessful this time, Trump responded with a definitive “No.” He expressed his belief that this would be the end of his presidential aspirations. During the wide-ranging interview with Attkisson, Trump discussed various topics including the economy, inflation, illegal immigration, and two recent assassination attempts against him. When questioned about his plan to address inflation, Trump mentioned reducing energy costs and interest rates as potential solutions.
In another interview with Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade on Saturday, Trump expressed concerns about his family’s security following the two assassination attempts. He emphasized that he worries not only about himself but also about his loved ones and even Kilmeade.
Trump then shifted focus to illegal immigration and suggested that millions of people entering the United States in recent years have made it a more dangerous place to live. He echoed similar sentiments regarding immigration during his conversation with Attkisson.
Regarding the two assassination attempts themselves, details were scarce during both interviews. The most recent attempt occurred on September 15 while Trump was golfing at his Florida golf course. In July, he narrowly escaped death when shots were fired at a rally in Butler Pennsylvania.
The FBI is currently investigating both incidents as assassination attempts against the former president. There have been no reports indicating any threats or attacks targeting members of Trump’s family thus far.
