Country music icon to tour with original band despite 2013 stroke

Randy ⁤Travis is embarking on his “More Life” Tour in‌ 2025, ‍according to a recent announcement. Despite suffering a stroke in 2013 that left him ⁤unable to perform, Travis has remained involved in the tour, thanks‌ to vocalist James Dupré and Travis’ ‍original ‌touring band. The singer‌ and his wife Mary will also be⁢ present on stage to interact with fans during the shows.

In a ‍statement, Travis expressed his excitement about the‌ tour, saying, “The ‘More Life’ Tour celebrates so much more ⁢than a musical moment‍ in time.⁤ It’s a gift for me to spend time with my fans and my band while James Dupré flawlessly presents the songs ⁢that⁢ define my career.”

Earlier this year, Travis released an AI-generated song titled “Where That Came From,” ‍which sparked discussions about artificial intelligence’s role in music performance. Producer Kyle‍ Lehning and Warner Music stripped⁤ away the music from 42 tracks and used Dupré as a surrogate‍ voice. The ⁢AI program ‍then overlaid Dupré’s singing ⁤with Travis’ original vocals.

Mark⁤ Heim of The Alabama Media Group reported on these developments ⁢but did not provide any further analysis or‌ commentary.
