Yoshihiko Noda, the newly appointed president of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, has announced his selection for key positions within the party. Junya Ogawa, former policy chief of the party, has been chosen as secretary general. Additionally, Kazuhiko Shigetoku, a member of the House of Representatives in Japan’s parliament, has been named chairman of the party’s Policy Research Committee. Hirofumi Ryu, previously senior deputy chairman of the party’s Diet Affairs Committee, will now serve as chairman of that committee. These appointments mark an important step in shaping the leadership and direction of the main opposition party in Japan.
