New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is no longer willing to make excuses for offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett’s poor play-calling ability. Despite having a talented roster that includes wide receivers Garrett Wilson, Malachi Corley, Xavier Gipson, and Mike Williams, as well as running backs Breece Hall and Braelon Allen (who rarely gets the ball), Hackett failed to secure a first down for almost the entire first quarter. The team’s offensive performance was lackluster, with only 29 completions out of 54 pass plays, three interceptions, three sacks, and four turnovers. The two touchdown passes made by Rodgers were a result of his improvisation and accuracy rather than Hackett’s play design. Fans are demanding that Hackett be replaced due to the team’s 2-3 start and clear offensive deficiencies. Despite criticism from Rodgers himself, it seems that Hackett has been able to maintain his position due to his relationship with the quarterback. However, with nowhere else to place blame for their struggles this season but on Hackett’s shoulders, fans are growing increasingly frustrated.
