In 2008, tragedy struck when Bailey suffered severe injuries from an accidental fall through a trap door during a performance of “The Little Mermaid.” This incident brought an abrupt end to his acting career as he underwent multiple surgeries to recover from fractured wrists and ribs, a broken back, shattered pelvis, fractured sternum and foot.
Bailey filed a lawsuit against Disney at the time, stating that preventive measures could have been taken to avoid the accident. Speaking about the impact it had on him personally, he expressed hope for full recovery someday.
