Several regions in China, including Dingxi City in Gansu Province, a district in Yancheng City in Jiangsu Province, and Lingchuan County in Shanxi Province, have recently conducted emergency drills for the outbreak of “pneumonia of unknown cause,” according to an official notice. Local health authorities have been actively organizing these drills as part of their response to infectious diseases. The drills are being conducted in accordance with orders from national-level authorities, who have instructed officials in 10 provinces to carry out emergent infectious disease drills by the end of August.
A spokesperson for the Gansu provincial government’s health hotline confirmed these drills, stating that they are an important measure to ensure preparedness for any potential outbreak of infectious diseases.
