Emily Gold, a 17-year-old dancer who appeared on the current season of “America’s Got Talent” with her high school dance team, has tragically passed away after being hit by a vehicle in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
According to Officer Rodrigo Jiménez of the California Highway Patrol, authorities received a call on September 13 at around 11:52 p.m. about a pedestrian accident. The victim was identified as a 17-year-old female from Rancho Cucamonga. She was struck by at least one vehicle in the eastbound HOV lane of SR-210 freeway and sadly succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
On September 15, Emily’s parents and brother released a joint statement on social media expressing their profound grief over her loss. They described Emily as beautiful and thanked everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
Emily served as varsity dance captain for the Los Osos High School Varsity Dance Team. Her teammates posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, praising her strength, kindness, and humble heart. They expressed their endless love for Emily and how much they miss her.
Rachel Muego, the team’s dance instructor and choreographer, also shared her sorrow over Emily’s passing. She thanked Emily for believing in and supporting the team from day one. Muego remembered Emily’s voice, smile, laughter, and positive words that brought light into their lives.
Earlier this year, the Los Osos High School Varsity Dance Team auditioned for season 19 of “America’s Got Talent.” Their audition was featured during the show’s season premiere in May. Although they didn’t make it to the semi-finals, Muego described their time on “America’s Got Talent” as an incredible experience filled with valuable lessons and cherished memories.
The news of Emily Gold’s untimely death has left family members, friends, teammates, and fans devastated by this tragic loss.
