Erik ten Hag’s Prediction for Marcus Rashford Amidst Recent Struggles

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, expressed confidence in Marcus Rashford’s abilities and believes that once he scores a goal or provides⁢ an assist, he will regain his form. Rashford ‍has struggled ⁤to make an impact in the current season and ⁤has⁢ faced criticism for‍ his performances over the past year.

For the match against Southampton,⁤ Rashford was included in United’s starting lineup alongside Amad. Ten Hag reiterated ‍his belief⁤ that ⁢things will turn around‍ for the 26-year-old Englishman.

“Not only today, but he’s in a good place and ⁣he needs a goal or an assist. Last game he had very good crosses,” Ten Hag ‌told TNT Sports. ⁤”That moment will come, we will‍ wait for that momentum and then ‌he will fly.”

Ten Hag also mentioned that all strikers want to score and from ⁢his experience, once they start scoring goals, their performance⁢ improves significantly.

In addition to Rashford’s ‍inclusion, ‍Manuel Ugarte was also part of United’s matchday squad ⁤after joining from Paris Saint-Germain‌ for £43m. However,⁢ Ugarte⁤ started on the bench while Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, ⁤and Joshua Zirkzee were named in ⁢the starting lineup as new ‌arrivals.

Christian Eriksen made‍ a return to United’s ⁢midfield instead of Casemiro due to his impressive performances during training sessions.

The Red Devils⁤ suffered a heavy defeat against Liverpool in their previous Premier League match with ‌Mohamed Salah scoring his 12th goal against United. Meanwhile, newly-promoted Southampton has lost all ⁢three of their games so far this season and currently sits in the ⁣bottom three alongside Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
