Japan’s Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Group Hidankyo to Lecture and Attend December Award Ceremony in Oslo

, also known as Nihon Hidankyo, has been⁢ selected as this year’s Nobel Peace ⁤Prize laureates. They have received an invitation from the Nobel Committee to send a representative to Oslo for the prize ceremony on December 10th. Masako Kudo, an official from Hidankyo, stated that they are⁤ currently preparing to choose a member who will attend the ceremony and deliver a lecture.‌ The group is expected to⁢ announce their chosen representative in November.

The Tokyo-based secretariat of Hidankyo, which represents organizations⁢ of atomic bomb victims across Japan, received the invitation via email from the Nobel Committee⁢ at around 7 p.m. on October 11th -‌ just⁣ one hour after they were announced as the winners. The letter addressed them as “Dear Laureate, Nihon Hidankyo” and requested ‍their ​presence at the award ceremony held at Oslo City Hall. It also mentioned that they ‍should prepare a lecture lasting up to 20 minutes as part of the ceremony. The letter was signed ‌by committee Chair Jorgen Watne Frydnes.

In ‍addition to attending the ceremony and delivering a lecture, Nihon Hidankyo will receive various honors and prizes. The prize money⁤ amounts ⁢to 11⁣ million Swedish kronor ⁢(approximately ¥160 million), along with a diploma. Furthermore, during the ceremony itself, their chosen representative will be presented with a gold ⁣Nobel Peace ​Prize medal.

As preparations continue ⁣for this prestigious event in December, Nihon Hidankyo is eagerly anticipating selecting their representative who ‌will have the honor of delivering a lecture on behalf⁣ of ‍all atomic⁢ bomb victims in Japan.
