Country Singer Carly Pearce Reveals Heart Condition Diagnosis

Carly Pearce, the United States country music sensation, has announced on social media that she has been diagnosed with pericarditis, a heart condition that occurs when the sac surrounding the heart swells. The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, who is currently on tour with Tim McGraw and due to headline the CMA Fest in June, made the announcement, via social media on Thursday, 13 May 2021. Pearce is set to perform throughout the summer and will release her fourth studio album, “Hummingbird,” on 7 June 2021. She also has plans for an overseas tour in Europe, which will begin in February 2022.

As a result of the pericarditis diagnosis, Pearce has been urged by medical professionals to alter some of her upcoming shows to aid in her healing process. Despite the setback, Pearce remains optimistic, imploring her social media followers to show her a little bit of grace and in doing so, giving her fans a sense of comfort. She stated: "If you’re coming to the shows, if you are going to be a part of any of the amazing things we have going on with ‘Hummingbird’—it is all going to be great. It just might look a little different, so I’m asking for a little bit of grace." Pearce went on to explain that as she continues to receive medical attention for her heart condition, she has had to make sure she keeps her heart rate under control for the time being. Pericarditis can be caused by the inflammation of the pericardium, which is the sac that encases the heart. The primary symptom of this heart condition is chest pain. However, each person is unique, and symptoms may vary. Some of the most common symptoms include heart palpitations, coughing, fatigue, fever, shortness of breath, and swelling of the abdomen. The most common form of pericarditis is viral pericarditis, which occurs when a viral infection, such as a common cold or the flu, causes inflammation in the pericardium. The community has rallied behind Pearce, showing their support with messages of love, prayers for the singer's speedy recovery, and words of encouragement. The musician Tigirlily Gold wrote a supportive message stating: "Hugs and prayers for a quick and full recovery. You’ve got this." Marcus Stanley, who survived being shot eight times in 2004, extended his well wishes, saying: "So thankful for the strength and light you are able to share, even through this challenge. Praying for you right now and will keep you lifted through this. Thank you for encouraging others to listen to their body." Despite the news of Pearce's condition, she remains determined to meet her fans. The artist is adamant about embarking on her tour, and all her upcoming shows, albeit with a modified setlist, still promises to be "amazing." Pearce's zeal and determination to power through this condition serve as an inspiration, reminding us of the strength and resilience of the human spirit. In conclusion, Pearce also reminded her followers to take care of their health too and to listen to their bodies, a reminder that echoes through the ages
