The company has stated that it will cover medical expenses and provide consolation money to users who can demonstrate a reasonable causal link between their health problems and the consumption of these supplements.
Specifically, Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co. will bear the costs associated with medical treatment and transportation for symptoms caused by the supplements. Additionally, compensation will be provided for mental distress, loss of income due to absence from work, and income reduction.
In cases where individuals have died as a result of consuming the supplements, the company will handle compensation separately.
Osaka Mayor Hideyuki Yokoyama expressed his hope that Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co. would attentively listen to those who have suffered health damage and respond sincerely to their needs.
