Lauren Sánchez, 54, recently spoke at the Forbes Power Women’s Summit 2024 about her children’s book and philanthropic work with her fiancé, Jeff Bezos. During the event, Sánchez acknowledged that many people know her primarily as “Jeff Bezos’ fiancée,” but she emphasized that she has chosen to use her platform to make a difference.
Sánchez and Bezos have been a public couple since January 2019 when their relationship was revealed on the same day Bezos announced his divorce from MacKenzie Scott. They got engaged in May 2023.
In her conversation with Forbes, Sánchez discussed how she tries to shine a spotlight on other people’s experiences through her relationship with Bezos. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to amplify incredible stories and views it as a responsibility she holds in high regard.
Before becoming known for her relationship with Bezos, Sánchez had a successful career as an Emmy-winning broadcast journalist. She is also a licensed helicopter pilot.
Sánchez and Bezos collaborate on various philanthropic endeavors such as the Bezos Earth Fund, which aims to combat climate change with a $10 billion investment. Additionally, Sánchez recently released her first children’s book titled ”The Fly Who Flew to Space,” which tells the story of a fly who dreams of becoming an astronaut but faces challenges in school.
Despite spending much of their time together both professionally and personally, Sánchez highlighted that Bezos supports and encourages her individual projects. She appreciates his belief in her abilities and considers herself fortunate to have such a partner.
Lauren Sánchez is using her position as Jeff Bezos’ fiancée to make positive contributions through philanthropy and storytelling while also pursuing personal endeavors outside of their shared ventures.
