Male Giraffe from Aichi, Japan to be Transferred for Breeding at Indonesian Zoo; Farewell Event Scheduled in October

A one-year-old male giraffe, named‍ Kiryu, will soon be sent from Toyohashi Zoo and‌ Botanical Park in Aichi‍ Prefecture to Batu ⁣Secrete Zoo in Indonesia for breeding purposes. Kiryu, ⁢who was born on August 6, 2023, is the third child of his parents Uryu and Yurara. Standing at about 3 meters tall, he ‍has grown up healthy and will bid farewell to the‌ park on October 13 before‌ departing for Indonesia on ⁢October 31. The Indonesian ‌zoo‍ currently houses two female giraffes, making it an ⁤ideal environment for breeding. Once Kiryu leaves, Toyohashi Zoo will still have ‍one male and two⁢ female giraffes remaining. The zoo’s​ veterinarian expressed hopes ​that Kiryu will ‍be well-received overseas and ​enjoy a healthy life with his new ⁢companions.
