Inter stifled City with their strong defense and confident possession play. They were able to break through City’s midfield but struggled with decision-making and execution in the final third. It was rare to see a team stifle City like this, as Simone Inzaghi’s side controlled the game and goalkeeper Yann Sommer had little to do.

In the dying minutes of the game, it seemed like Inter were starting to cling on as City increased their intensity and created chances. Ilkay Gundogan missed two glorious headed chances that could have secured victory for City.
it was a disappointing result for Guardiola’s side who were outplayed by Inter throughout most of the match. Inzaghi deserves credit for his team’s outstanding performance at the Etihad Stadium.
