Yellowjackets, a TV series that first aired on Showtime in 2022, has recently landed on Netflix and is receiving high praise. The show follows a high school girls’ soccer team in two different timelines. In the first timeline, the girls crash-land in a wilderness and face not only physical challenges but also strange visions and encounters that leave them questioning if supernatural forces are at play. The second timeline takes place decades later and focuses on the survivors of the crash who harbor dark secrets and guilt.
The cast of Yellowjackets is one of its standout features. Ella Purnell stars as Jackie, the captain of the soccer team, alongside other talented actors such as Sophie Nelisse, Sophie Thatcher, Kevin Alves, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sammi Hanratty, and Steven Krueger.
While Season 1 of Yellowjackets is available on Netflix and highly recommended by viewers for its gripping storyline and well-rounded characters, Season 2 falls short compared to its predecessor. Despite this disappointment with Season 2’s quality decline from Season 1’s brilliance, fans are hopeful for a strong comeback in Season 3.
In addition to Yellowjackets’ release on Netflix, another supernatural thriller series called FROM is gaining attention. It currently airs exclusively on MGM+ but can be watched with a Prime Video subscription for its first season. FROM shares similarities with Lost in terms of plane crashes and mysterious events but offers its own unique story set in an unnamed town where people become trapped.
