Speaking to Fox News Digital, Bilson explained how being targeted by the infamous Bling Ring group in the late 2000s changed her perspective on security. The Bling Ring, consisting of seven teenagers and young adults based in Hollywood, stole $3 million worth of cash and belongings from Bilson and other celebrities including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. They broke into Bilson’s home five times before their arrest in 2009.
Reflecting on the experience, Bilson admitted that it was initially difficult for her to accept the loss of cherished possessions. However, as time went on, she realized the importance of letting go. Despite feeling slightly relieved upon learning that the burglars were young individuals rather than hardened criminals, Bilson began taking extra precautions such as locking her doors and setting alarms.
