Logan Gilbert had never worn the Mariners’ City Connect uniforms when on the mound, as they’ve almost exclusively been reserved for Friday home games. However, in a surprising turn of events, Gilbert was approached about wearing them on Saturday to keep the Mariners’ winning streak alive. And it worked.
In a walk-off win against the Rangers, Randy Arozarena played hero with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Mariners have now advanced to 14-1 when wearing their City Connect uniforms.
