Lowe, known for his roles in “Wayne’s World” and “The Outsiders,” has been married to Berkoff for 33 years. He shared with Jennifer Hudson that they had a discreet wedding ceremony to avoid media attention. They held the ceremony at a friend’s house under the guise of a daytime luncheon with a wedding theme and kept the guest list small.
Last year, Lowe revealed the keys to maintaining a lasting marriage on Bruce Bozzi’s podcast, “Table for Two.” He emphasized that marrying your best friend is crucial because friendship sustains when other aspects of the relationship fluctuate. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1964, Lowe began his acting career as an errand boy in a production at Wright State University theater. In 1979, he made his television debut on ABC sitcom “A New Kind of Family.” One of his breakthrough roles came in 1983 when he played Sodapop Curtis in “The Outsiders.” He went on to star in films like “St. Elmo’s Fire” (1985) and received Golden Globe nominations for his performances.
From 1999 to 2003, Lowe portrayed White House communications director Sam Seaborn on the political drama series “The West Wing,” earning him more award nominations. His recent projects include television series such as “Unstable” and “9-1-1: Lone Star.”
