Shanahan Shares CMC and Pearsall Updates for 49ers’ Week 6 Game

The ⁢San ⁤Francisco 49ers ⁣will not be opening the practice window for rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall this week. This decision is due⁢ to⁣ the team’s lack of full-speed ⁤practice as they prepare for their‌ upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night at Lumen Field.‌ Coach Kyle‍ Shanahan confirmed that Pearsall‌ will continue with physical therapy while remaining ⁣on ⁣the reserve/non-football‌ injury list.

Pearsall suffered a gunshot wound to his chest area during an armed robbery attempt on August 31. However, he seems to be nearing a return to action.

In addition, running back ‌Christian McCaffrey will also ⁣remain on injured reserve and will not be available for Thursday’s game. ⁣McCaffrey has⁣ been dealing⁢ with Achilles tendinitis⁤ in both legs and ⁣has yet to play this ‍season.

Meanwhile, the 49ers are planning tryouts for four free-agent kickers this week after Jake Moody sustained a right ‌high-ankle sprain and is expected to miss multiple games. The identities of these kickers have not been disclosed by Shanahan.

Safety Talanoa Hufanga suffered a wrist injury during Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals and⁣ did ⁣not return⁢ in the second‍ half. There is no update on his status at this time.

Linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles is unlikely to be available for ‍Thursday’s game due to a⁢ calf injury, while receivers Jacob Cowing (shoulder) and Chris Conley (oblique) are ‍listed as day-to-day.

Defensive lineman Yetur Gross-Matos underwent knee ⁣surgery after being ‍placed on injured reserve by the 49ers last ‍Saturday. He is expected to miss four⁢ to eight⁣ weeks of action.
