Dozens of people gathered at Lewes Public Library in Lewes, Delaware, on October 3 for the screening of “State Organs,” a documentary that exposes forced organ harvesting in China. The event was co-sponsored by advocacy groups including Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) and Delaware Medical Freedom Alliance (DMFA). The screening was followed by a panel discussion with experts and Cheng Peiming, the first known survivor of forced organ harvesting.
The 76-minute documentary, produced by Raymond Zhang and scored by Daryl Bennett, tells the story of two families searching for their missing loved ones in China. It reveals evidence of state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. Audience members were visibly moved and expressed shock and anger at the chilling reality depicted in the film.
Cheng Peiming’s harrowing escape from China after being subjected to organ harvesting captivated the audience. Imprisoned for his belief in Falun Gong, Cheng described his ordeal in graphic detail, recounting the excruciating pain he endured during the removal of parts of his liver and lung.
Victor Carlstrom, a heart transplant recipient from Lewes, expressed astonishment at how quickly people can get transplants in China compared to waiting times in other countries. He called it an “atrocity” that targets individuals based on their beliefs rather than just condemned prisoners.
Abraxas Hudson, president of DMFA, urged attendees to stand against forced organ harvesting and emphasized that rais
