Shapiro believes that people are recognizing these policies and their tangible effects on the economy.
When asked about the current polling averages showing Kamala Harris leading by 1.3 points in Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro acknowledged that it is an incredibly close race. However, he provided some context by pointing out that previous presidential races were decided by margins of 44,000 votes and 80,000 votes in his state. Therefore, whether statistically tied or with a slight lead for Harris, Shapiro emphasized that every vote counts.
Shapiro expressed confidence in his campaign’s position despite the tight race. He noted that Harris has been actively engaging with rural communities and receiving positive feedback from them. Anecdotally speaking, he observed an increase in signs supporting Harris’s campaign as well as more volunteers joining her cause in swing areas or counties crucial to winning Pennsylvania.
Governor Shapiro acknowledged the challenges ahead but remained optimistic about their momentum heading into the election battle. He concluded by stating his preference for being on his side rather than theirs at this stage of the race.
