A major power outage occurred in parts of southeastern Brooklyn on Thursday morning. At its peak, nearly 10,000 customers were affected by the outage. According to Con Edison, the power failure was caused by a dumpster truck colliding with a pole and bringing down the wires in an industrial area near Glenwood Road and Troy Avenue. The outage began around 7:45 a.m. but service was restored to all customers by 11 a.m. The Flatbush and East Flatbush neighborhoods were particularly impacted by the outage. Limited information has been released regarding this incident.
