Amanda Bynes Pulls the Plug on Podcast After One Episode

Amanda Bynes puts brakes on her new podcast for a new direction. The 37-year-old actress recently decided to discontinue the filming and recording of her show, Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast, after just one episode.

Bynes publicly announced that she was taking a pause on the project due to her change of heart and desire to pursue a new goal of getting her manicurist license. This decision to shift her focus away from the podcast comes after she initially expressed surprise at the positive reception of her first episode and planned to continue. However, Bynes ultimately opted to follow a different path and expressed her gratitude to fans for supporting her in this new endeavor.

In a recent Instagram Story, the Hairspray actress shared, “The 1st episode of my podcast did really well. I was actually surprised and of course was going to keep going after friends encouraged me to..After thinking about it, though, I would rather get my manicurist license and have a consistent job. I’m going to follow that path instead.”

Last week, Bynes took to TikTok to explain her decision to take a break from the podcast, citing difficulties with booking high-profile guests as one of the key reasons for the hiatus. She expressed her initial sadness and frustration, but later changed her mind following encouragement from friends to continue with the project.

On Thursday, Bynes also unveiled a new buzzcut hairstyle as she was spotted out and about in Los Angeles. Sporting a buzzed top with long mullet-style blonde extensions, the actress was seen puffing on a vape before heading to an auto body shop and enjoying a test drive with a mystery man by her side.

The actress’ journey towards recovery has been followed closely, particularly after her struggles with mental and physical health issues. Back in September, a source shared that Bynes had been focused on taking care of herself through various treatments, including maintaining privacy and spending time with trusted individuals.

Bynes’ mental health challenges reached a critical point in June when she was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold and subsequently checked herself into an intensive inpatient mental health treatment center in Orange County just a month later. Despite these setbacks, Bynes experienced a positive development when her multi-year conservatorship was terminated in March 2022, signaling a significant step towards independence.

However, the actress’ journey to stability continued to be marked by hardships, including her split from her on-and-off ex, Paul Michael, and subsequent hospitalization after being found wandering the streets of Los Angeles unclothed earlier this year.

As Bynes navigates the complexities of her personal and professional life, her resilience and determination to pursue new goals, such as obtaining a manicurist license, reflect a renewed sense of purpose and focus as she forges ahead on her path to healing and growth.
