Aventon Introduces New Affordable E-Bike Commuter Line, the Soltera 2
Aventon has just launched its latest e-bike in the commuter line, the Soltera 2, which comes in at a lower price point of $1,199. Known for its well-chosen components and eco-friendly packing materials, Aventon proves its ability to deliver on style, features, and performance with this new model. The Soltera 2 follows the success of Aventon’s other models released this year, such as the Abound cargo bike and the Aventure 2 fat-tire off-roader.
The e-bike is available in four colors and two frame designs: a step-thru and a step-over. It boasts integrated self-canceling signal lights and an adjustable headlight for added safety. It is rated for 46 miles on a full charge, but in real-world test conditions, the travel distance is approximately 30 miles due to a slight motor drag with zero assistance.
Designated as a Class II e-bike, the Soltera 2 can reach a top speed of 20 mph through pedal assistance, or 25 mph when unlocked. Its 350-watt, 36-volt brushless rear hub motor with a torque sensor ensures efficient power, and a seven-speed cassette adds versatility to the ride. Despite its lightweight design, the bike offers effortless maneuvering through the city and navigating stairs.
While excelling in urban commuting, the Soltera 2 may not be the most suitable choice for longer travel distances compared to its counterpart, the Aventure 2. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on individual needs, including the need to carry a bike up and down stairs. Despite the Aventure 2’s extended range and additional features, such as fenders, it comes with almost double the weight.
