Bellingham scores as Real Madrid defeat Villarreal

Jude Bellingham’s 17th goal of the season propelled Real Madrid back to the top of LaLiga as they defeated Villarreal 4-1 at the Bernabeu. This victory allowed the hosts to surpass previous leaders Girona, who will face Alaves on Sunday. Rodrygo also contributed to Real’s win by doubling their lead, while Jose Luis Morales managed to reduce the deficit for Villarreal. However, Brahim Diaz and Luka Modric sealed the victory for Real Madrid with further goals.

Meanwhile, in another LaLiga match, Cadiz sealed their fourth consecutive draw after Chris Ramos scored a late equalizer, leading to a 1-1 draw against Las Palmas, who took an early lead with a goal from Pejino.

In Serie A, Inter Milan extended their lead at the top with a 2-0 win over Lazio in Rome. Lautaro Martinez capitalized on a mistake by Lazio’s Adam Marusic to score the opening goal, and Marcus Thuram secured the victory in the second half. Manuel Lazzari was sent off late in the game. AC Milan also had a successful match, securing a 3-0 win over Monza, strengthening their position in third place. Bologna, Fiorentina and Udinese also registered significant wins in Serie A.

In the Bundesliga, Harry Kane scored twice as Bayern Munich bounced back from a previous defeat with a 3-0 win over Stuttgart. Bayer Leverkusen maintained their lead by defeating Frankfurt 3-0 at the BayArena. Freiburg also secured a 2-0 win over struggling Koln.

Paris St Germain were denied an eighth successive Ligue 1 win as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Kylian Mbappe’s goal initially seemed to secure a victory, but Jonathan David’s last-minute goal salvaged a point for Lille.

In other Ligue 1 matches, Brest registered a 2-0 win against Nantes, while Marseille secured a 2-1 victory at home against bottom club Clermont. Strasbourg, Montpellier, Toulouse, and Rennes also had mixed results in their respective matches.
