Donald Trump’s Children Speak Out After Guilty Verdict Is Read

After being found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in his criminal hush money trial, President Donald Trump, who was also a former president, is facing significant backlash from across the nation. Members of his family, including several of his children, have spoken out in support of him, marking the first time in American history that a former president has been convicted of a crime.

In response to the guilty verdict, Ivanka Trump, the business magnate’s 42-year-old daughter, posted a loving childhood photo of herself sitting on her father’s lap on Instagram, expressing her love for him. Meanwhile, the president’s sons, Eric and Donald Jr., made statements on Twitter that were met with mixed responses. Eric wrote that May 30 “might be remembered as the day Donald J. Trump won the 2024 Presidential Election,” whereas Donald Jr. claimed that the case “was rigged from the start.”

Despite the family’s support, the people are divided in their opinions. Some celebrities have expressed support for the conviction, including singer Barbra Streisand who wrote that “[Convicted felon] Donald Trump will never accept accountability for his crimes. Americans must not allow this felon anywhere near the White House again.” However, others, like country music star Jason Aldean, came to the defense of President Trump, stating on Instagram that “When a former POTUS gets treated like this by our justice system, what does that mean for the rest of us??? If there was ever a time to speak up, ITS NOW! Make no mistake…. We are in trouble.”

It is clear that this historic conviction has brought significant discomfort and perplexity to the nation, leaving many people questioning the morality and fairness of the legal system in the United States
