The discovery was made by her devastated mother, Jacqueline, who became worried when her daughter failed to show up for the Lighted Christmas Parade with her cheerleading team.
The suspect in custody is Rafael Govea Romero, an illegal alien who was arrested in Schulenburg, Texas, located approximately 75 miles from Edna. The details surrounding Romero’s entry into the United States remain unclear, leaving many questions unanswered.

Edna Police Department and Texas Rangers immediately traveled to Schulenburg where Romero was placed under arrest for Capital Murder and transported to the Jackson County Jail.”
