Inter Milan quickly score goals to regain top spot in Serie A

Inter Milan Secures Top Spot in Serie A

Inter Milan has triumphantly returned to the top of the Serie A with a 4-0 victory over Udinese at the San Siro. Hakan Calhanoglu, Federico Di Marco, and Marcus Thruam rewarded Nerazzurri dominance with a scoring burst just before half-time.

Lautaro Martinez added to the gloss of victory six minutes from time with his 14th goal of the season, securing the top spot for Inter Milan.

Udinese may have argued their shackle plan to suppress Inter, but it was clear it was not working after Nehuen Perez pulled back Martinez and Calhanoglu converted from the penalty spot after 37 minutes. This win marked Inter’s 12th victory from 15 league games, propelling them two points ahead of Juventus, who had beaten champions Napoli the previous day.

Despite Udinese’s only league victory this season over Milan, it seemed they were at a disadvantage with injured defenders Jaka Bijol and Enzo Ebosse absent. This became apparent when Christian Kabasele cut out dangerous crosses and Martinez headed Di Marco’s cross against a post.

Inter had various close calls with Thruam and Calhanoglu before Perez’s rash defending allowed Calhanoglu to make his fourth goal in five league games. Udinese attempted to recover, but Calhanoglu and Di Marco were able to double the lead within five minutes, and Thuram added a third goal just before halftime, concluding a 21-pass Inter move.

The second half saw a drop in Inter’s intensity, and Udinese was given a glimpse of hope when goalkeeper Yann Sommer failed to hold on to a shot from substitute Sandi Lovric. However, Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca’s goal was ruled out for being offside, and the finale belonged to Serie A’s top scorer, Martinez.

Inter Milan’s dominant performance proved their prowess in Serie A, and their win over Udinese solidified their place at the top of the league. The team’s relentless attack and solid defense have put them a step ahead of their competitors. With this victory, Inter Milan looks poised to maintain their position at the top of the Serie A. More impressive victories from them are expected in the coming weeks.
