A man was brutally assaulted in front of his home on the first night of Hanukkah in New York. Joshua Merenfeld, a 40-year-old father of five, was attacked while standing outside his apartment building in Brooklyn. The attack left Merenfeld with severe injuries, and the assailant also stole his phone before fleeing the scene.

Merenfeld described the attack as a “real beating,” highlighting the violent and unprovoked nature of the assault. He was left lying on the ground after being repeatedly punched and stomped on by his attacker. Despite the harrowing experience, Merenfeld was able to seek medical treatment and was later discharged from the hospital.
