A Vietnamese national has been arrested in Hiroshima for attempting to smuggle 3.5 kilograms of gold from Vietnam into Japan disguised as golf club heads. The 32-year-old man, claiming to be a car salesman, was caught at the immigration checkpoint at Hiroshima Airport in Mihara, Hiroshima Prefecture on November 15.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, reportedly concealed the gold, valued at ¥32 million, by disguising it as the heads of six golf clubs in a golf bag.
